This five-week course is designed for anyone looking for:

• An accessible, well-rounded introduction to yoga;

• A refresher to return to practice;

• Enough knowledge to have the confidence to practice at home safely.

Yoga is for everyone and is an awareness practice. Main objective in this five-week course is to teach you the fundamentals of a balanced yoga practice – postures, breathworks, meditation, relaxation – in an inclusive way.

You will learn some key postures from each of the main groups including standing poses, forward & back bends, twists, sun salutations and simple inversions. You will also learn about the importance of alignment in all postures, how to work towards experiencing ease and stability in yoga poses, the importance of the breath – its effect on your practice and how to use it as a simple way to start meditating.

Every class will contain:

• Physical postures – to strengthen and tone the body and increase mobility.

• Meditation – introduction to Buddhist mindfulness practices

• Breathwork – simple breathing practices to boost mood and balance the nervous system

• Relaxation – can you believe we have to learn that? But we do!

You’ll also receive a small but comprehensive handbook and a suggested reading list to help you go over the things you learn and dig deeper into the yoga teachings.

About the instructor:

Sinem Er is a Yoga Alliance USA certified E-RYT 500 and YACEP teacher (YA ID: 147459) She has led Yoga Alliance USA Approved 200-hour Teacher Training Programs and Continuing Education Programs since 2014.

She teaches multi-level, alignment-based vinyasa yoga classes, grounded in the practices of mindfulness and compassion. She has been practicing yoga since 2005 and has found a great joy in sharing the teachings of yoga since 2010.

She was fortunate enough to learn about yoga from many valuable teachers, but her root teacher is Cyndi Lee, the first western female yoga teacher to integrate yoga and Buddhism, the founder of the legendary OM Yoga School. She completed her 200-hour training in 2010 and 500-hour advanced training in 2015 with her.
